Welcome!  The Green Mountain Festival Series celebrates its 25th Season this year.  We have planned a special season that will showcase talent that has spun from our local community schools.

Season will begin with a Haunted Eve with Joe Citro, an Alum Reunion Night with Rock n Roll and Coffeehouse music, Love Letters with Sam and Barbara Lloyd then an amazing night with alum Ignat Solzhenitsyn!

The Green Mountain Festival Series originated with the belief that the arts bring a unique and exhilarating quality to our lives.  It began in 1985 when a group of local residents recognized a need in our community for live entertainment during winter months.  These six volunteers worked diligently to engage performers and find a donated site at the local high school.  Area businesses and individuals got behind the mission of the organization: to provide quality entertainment at affordable prices.

With that theme in mind, the Festival Series board of volunteers voted to “slash” our tickets prices for three of our shows this current season to $10.00 (Adult/Senior), $7.00 (Student).  And, offering Ignat Solzhenitsyn for $20.00 (Adult/Senior), $10.00 (Student).

We hope that you will join us for one or more (or all!) of our programs.

he Green Mountain Festival Series began in 1985 when a group of local residents recognized a need in our community for live entertainment during winter months.  These six volunteers worked diligently to engage performers and find a donated site at the local high school.  Area businesses and individuals got behind the mission of the organization: to provide quality entertainment at affordable prices.

During the past twenty-five seasons the GMFS has evolved into a quality presenter’s organization always looking for ways to bring art and entertainment to the area.  Within this context our focus began to include arts programming in the schools.  In 1990 an Arts in Education Committee was formed to support direct artistic experiences for students in the Windsor Southwest Supervisory School District.  Since that time hundreds of students have enjoyed arts workshops, residencies and live district-wide performances.

The GMFS has been a landmark institution in Chester.  Performances are not only an artistic evenings, but are community events.  We bring people together.  And through the school arts programs we enrich the lives of students and teachers.

Over the years our audience has grown to include people from the areas surrounding Chester – Londonderry, Peru, Grafton, Rockingham, Springfield, Weathersfield, etc.  The Green Mountain Union High School stage has been host to singers, dancers, drummers, actors, magicians, and musicians from many corners of the country and world.

The success of the Green Mountain Festival Series is directly related to the financial support of our underwriters, the devotion and hard-work of our volunteer board, and our dynamic audiences!
